Affordable IP SAN with Enterprise-Class Features
Scalable IP SANs based on StoneFly Storage Concentrators® deliver all the benefits of SANs, including increased
storage utilization through storage consolidation, feature-rich managed storage capabilities, rapid deployment
of new storage and SAN-based backup capabilities.
Storage Concentrators provide storage provisioning, which turns physical disks into virtual storage units, or
logical volumes that are presented to the host as local SCSI disks. Key features include advanced storage
management functions, such as synchronous mirroring through StoneFly Reflection and FailOver Clustering.
StoneFusion® Intelligent Network Storage Platform
StoneFly's IP SANs are based on the company's patent-pending storage networking foundation architecture,
StoneFusion®. An intelligent iSCSI storage packet routing technology, the StoneFusion Intelligent Networking
Platform effectively standardizes message/file and storage I/O onto an Ethernet/IP network to ultimately
"converge" existing networking and storage architectures.
Serial ATA RAID With Next Generation Performance
With an abundance of high-reliability features, including hot-swappable drive tray mechanisms automatic drive
failure detection, online rebuild, redundant hot swappable power supplies, and three cooling fans, StoneFly
RAID storage delivers users the highest levels of availability. In short, it provides a highly sophisticated
and reliable storage solution for a StoneFly Scaleable IP SAN.
Storage Concentrator i3000
Shipping since June 2002, Storage Concentrators® have been installed across key vertical markets, including
insurance, healthcare, education, government, financial services and manufacturing. The Storage Concentrator,
which is powered by the StoneFusion® Intelligent Network Storage Platform (NSP), reduces the total cost of
ownership by lowering management costs and increasing storage utilization. By adding block level storage
intelligence to the IP networking core, Storage Concentrators deliver all the benefits of SANs, including
increased storage utilization through storage consolidation, feature-rich managed storage capabilities,
rapid deployment of new storage and SAN-based backup capabilities.
Storage Concentrators enable storage provisioning, which turns physical disks into virtual storage units,
or logical volumes. These logical volumes are presented to the host as normal SCSI disks. Each logical volume
points to physical storage in disk arrays by blocks. StoneFly's Storage Concentrators also facilitate advanced
storage management functions, such as synchronous mirroring through StoneFly Reflection and FailOver Clustering.
StoneFly Backup Advantage (SBA) is a completely integrated software and hardware disk-to-disk backup solution for IT professionals who are experiencing shrinking backup windows, failed backups and slow/unreliable restores. StoneFly Replicator® CDP is an integrated data recovery solution that replicates not only files, but also databases and entire applications. It is ideal for meeting data recovery point objectives (RPO). Specifically designed to work in an IP SAN environment, StoneFly Replicator CDP is application-aware, with modules that support the following applications:
- Replicator CDP for Microsoft SQL servers is designed explicitly for SQL databases
- Replicator CDP for Microsoft Exchange supports the special needs of Exchange email applications
- File Servers in Windows 2000/2003 environments
An advanced Rewind technology provides a comprehensive undo capability that allows system administrators to instantly roll back damaged data resources to a previous, valid state. Because the Rewind is application aware, it can rollback transaction by transaction until the exact point of data loss. Regardless of the type and severity of the challenge your information infrastructure may face, StoneFly Replicator CDP can ensure data integrity.
Features
- Seamless Recovery: Recovering from data loss or corruption is effortless and practically immediate. Entire databases, along with open files and system settings are synchronized, ensuring that every bit of information, up to the moment catastrophe strikes, is backed up and ready to serve again
- Application Aware: Modules tailored specifically for Microsoft Exchange, SQL and File Servers for ease of application management
- Intuitive Management GUI: Simple and centralized disaster recovery management
- Soft Installation (patented): Non-disruptive installation with no downtime. Users can continue to use the application during install
- Rewind Technology: Accelerated recovery from data corruption minimizes loss of data
- Granular Restore: In addition to entire datasets and volumes, easily restores a single file, email message, or SQL database record
- Enhanced Availability: Supports manual switch over and switch back at the server and database level
StoneFly Snapshot
StoneFly Snapshot is designed for IT professionals who want an efficient and easy-to-use method of recovering critical data quickly and is ideal for meeting recovery point objectives (RPO). Snapshots are virtual, temporary, and perishable point-in-time images of an active live volume. Snapshot volumes appear to the host as if they were regular volumes and can even be written to while preserving the original.
Snapshots can be created nearly instantaneously requiring less time to quiesce applications and far less server overhead for backups. A Snapshot contains an intelligent replica of the volume at the exact point in time that the Snapshot was taken yet requires significantly less disk space than a full copy. The primary benefits of Snapshots are their smaller storage requirements and their low system overhead. Snapshots persist across reboots and can be mounted and accessed just like any other volume.
Features
- Protects against loss of critical data
- Permits rollback to return to an earlier known good state in the event of a disk failure or virus
- Highly efficient, thereby conserving disk space
- Fully compatible with StoneFly Backup Advantage™, StoneFly Replicator™ and StoneFly Reflection as well as customer defined applications for integration of snapshot functions into backup, archive, and remote replication functions
- Autonomously maintains all Snapshots
